Correction Policy

At Pragati Daily, accuracy, fairness, and accountability are the foundation of our journalism. We recognize our responsibility toward our readers and are committed to correcting any mistakes promptly, clearly, and transparently.

Our Approach

We strive to publish news and information that is accurate, complete, and balanced, based on the best available facts at the time of reporting. However, if errors occur, we:

  • Correct them as quickly as possible.
  • Inform readers about the changes made.
  • Issue clarifications or editor’s notes when necessary.
  • In cases of significant misinformation, issue a public apology.

Updating a Report

When a story is updated, we ensure readers are notified through:

  • Correction notes or clarifications within the article.
  • Editor’s notes for major changes or ethical concerns, approved by senior editors.
  • Clear labeling, such as [Correction: Updated Information], at the top of fact-check articles.

Readers are also encouraged to report corrections using the “Suggest a Correction” link at the end of every article or by emailing us at connect@surgesocial.in.

Types of Corrections

  • Corrections: Substantive errors in headlines, photos, captions, graphics, videos, or articles are corrected with a note explaining the change.
  • Clarifications: When the facts are correct but the language may be unclear, incomplete, or misleading, we adjust the story and add clarification.
  • Editor’s Notes: For errors that affect the integrity of the entire piece or raise serious ethical issues, we add a note approved by senior editorial staff.

Additional Practices

  • Errors pointed out in comments are acknowledged once fixed.
  • Mistakes published on social media are corrected on the same platform or retracted if corrections are not possible.
  • We do not assign blame to individual reporters or editors in correction notes.

Take-down Requests

As a matter of policy, we do not remove published articles. However, if a story is proven inaccurate, we will investigate and publish a correction. Updates or follow-ups may be added where fairness requires it.

  • Requests to remove publicly available personal data will only be considered if its publication poses a risk of physical harm.

Use of AI Tools

We may use AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) to assist in content editing and corrections. If you spot an error, please send the article link and correction details to connect@surgesocial.in so updates can be made promptly.

All disputes or concerns related to content published on Pragati Daily shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Gurgaon, Haryana, India.
